Student’s Seminar on
“ENTRPRENEURSHIP AS A MINDSET, NOT A PROFESSION & EDTECH PERSPECTIVE”

As part of the annual Techno- management festival, Tathva 2025, organized by NIT Calicut, a
lecture session titled “Entrepreneurship as a Mindset, Not a Profession – The EdTech Perspective”
delivered by Mr Chandan Jha, Associate Vice President at GeeksforGeeks and is a former ISRO
scientist, was attended by some of the first year students from MGM College of Engineering &
Technology.
Building on this experience, a student-seminar was conducted at the college, to translate the insights
from the lecture into actionable understanding for students, emphasising not only the content of
EdTech but also how students can engage with it effectively and ethically.
The presentation covered the definition and evolution of EdTech, how it enables personalised and
flexible learning, the growing influence of AI (tutors, coding assistants, adaptive assessment tools),
major EdTech platforms including Coursera, Udemy, GeeksforGeeks and others, and the link
between EdTech and cultivating an entrepreneurial mindset.
The lecture at Tathva and the subsequent seminar at MGM College together provided a valuable
platform for students to understand how technology, learning and entrepreneurship interconnect.
